Cultural events:

San Diego is world famous for its various cultural attractions such as the Wild West, the Old West, the Sea of Cortez and the Tijuana Bell. This article lists some of the things to do in San Diego that are related to either the history or the culture of this amazing city. These cultural events can be good for a quick escape from the crowds and the heat, or they can be great starting points for a fascinating tour of this vast region of California. The Old Town Square, with its assortment of shops and sidewalk cafes, is one of the best places to go and have a full-blown cultural experience. You can also go see the Gaslamp Quarter, which is filled with historical and cultural treasures dating all the way back to the year 1692.

Gaslamp District:

Just walking down the Harbor Drive in downtown San Diego will bring you face to face with one of the most important financial, social and political centers of this state. The Gaslamp District has a lot to offer and is considered to be the commercial heart of San Diego. Visit the Gaslamp District on your vacation and you will be greeted by a giant Gaslamp Quarter that is full of shops and restaurants as well as the Gaslamp Village, which is like a mix of Midwestern and Oriental style hotels.

Historic Gaslamp Quarter:

On your tour of things to do in San Diego, don’t forget to stop by the Gaslamp Quarter Historic District, which is located right in the heart of the city. This is where the old warehouses and steeples were made and these buildings form the living room of the Gaslamp Quarter. Along with all this history and beauty, you will also find some cool little stores that carry souvenirs and gifts for souvenir lovers. Besides, the Gaslamp Quarter has become a popular hangout for tourists because the weather is almost perfect almost all the time.

Gaslamp District – Beach Drive:

On your tour of things to do in San Diego, stop by the popular attractions on Beach Drive in the Gaslamp District. One of the most popular attractions of this area is Balboa Park, which is known for its perfect settings of lush tropical trees and grassy areas with sandy beaches. The other popular attraction here is Balboa Park’s Underwater Zoo, which provides visitors with the opportunity to view marine life. Apart from these, this area is also popular for its world class restaurants and its galleries and museums.

San Diego Zoo:

Believe it or not, San Diego Zoo is not the oldest zoo in America. However, it is by far its largest urban cultural park. This giant zoo is home to millions of animals and several other interesting exhibits, including the giant tortoise collection. Moreover, there are two underground pools at the San Diego Zoo. Children and adults alike are fascinated by the sharks, various breeds of penguins and many more.

Downtown San Diego:
